Manroland Goss, leadingsupplier of web offset printing solutions, has successfully completed the com-plex relocation of a COLORMAN newspaper printing press from Crailsheim toUlm.
The challenge: to dismantle and transport a complete printing system inrecord time, putting it back into operation at the new location. Thanks to precise planning, an experienced team and close cooperation with NPG Druckhaus, production of the daily newspapers was able to start on time.
Due to the very ambitious schedule, the relocation of the complete COLORMAN newspaper printing system required extremely precise planning and implementation. manroland Goss has once again proven its competence as a full-service provider in the areas of project management, logistics, installation and commissioning.
The web offset printing press, equipped with three reel splicers, three printing towers and a classic Berliner-format folder superstructure, took over daily newspaper production at the new location in Ulm on time after a smooth production start.
The relocation of the printing press to Ulm marks an important step in the consolida- tion of Neue Pressegesellschaft’s (NPG) production sites. Bundling resources at a central location will not only optimize machine utilization, but also increase the efficiency of the entire production chain. Daily newspaper production is thus not only more economical, but also more sustainable – a benefit for the company and the environment alike.
