Epson and Conservation International Team Up to Restore Vital Water Ecosystems
Seiko Epson Corporation is pleased to announce that it has formed a partnership with Conservation International, an international environmental NGO based in the U.S. that is dedicated to nature conservation.

The partnership with Conservation International will seek to restore and conserve watersheds.Around the world, water is becoming increasingly contaminated as more and more industrial and domestic wastewater enters our waterways.

Meanwhile, global warming is destabilizing the supply of water resources. A rapid increase in demand due to population growth is also increasing the risk of water shortages.

Emerging countries are facing especially severe water pollution and resource depletion. It is estimated that one billion people1 are facing water scarcity, making the securing of industrial and domestic water an urgent task.Epson aspires to achieve sustainability and enrich communities through social programs in the areas of the environment, society, and economics.

With this partnership in the environmental area, Epson aims to strike a harmonious coexistence between industry and the environment by driving progress toward a circular economy, conserving forest and water resources, and reducing our consumption of underground resources.

Epson has maintained an especially keen interest in water resource protection. Located near the shores of Lake Suwa, the company has long upheld the founder’s commitment to protecting the water resources of the lake.

Conservation International works globally to protect nature through science, policy, and partnerships, safeguarding the forests, oceans, and wetlands that provide food, water, and livelihoods for people while supporting climate stability.

Around the world, Conservation International is restoring priority freshwater ecosystems that sustain biodiversity, people and economies, by delivering innovative, science-based solutions that can be replicated worldwide.

In this environment, Epson will enter into a partnership aimed at protecting water resources globally, in order to expand efforts related to the restoration of watersheds. Through this three year partnership, from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2028, Epson will donate USD 1.27 million to Conservation International to support watershed restoration and water quality improvement projects.

These projects will include river basin management and forest restoration in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Brazil, where Epson has major manufacturing sites. Additionally, local employees will participate in the projects and contribute to Epson’s global water conservation efforts.
