Egypt Post has inaugurated a new digital printing centre at its Nasr City printing site. The specialised unit, equipped with the latest digital inkjet printing technology, was officially launched by Dalia Elbaz, Executive Chairwoman at Egypt Post.
The centre joins the integrated Egyptian postal system that includes a centre for issuing electronic payment cards and a centre for secure printing and printing of postage stamps to fulfill all the requirements of the authority as well as the local market.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mohamed Abou Zahra, Printing Manager at Egypt Post, and high-profile delegates from the publishing sector and academia including Ahmed Omar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dar Al Hilal Foundation, Mohamed Mahmoud, General Manager, Al Ahram Foundation Printing Press, Abdel Aziz Ibrahim, Director – Publishing, Nahdet Misr Printing & Publishing House, Ayman Abdel Majeed, General Manager, Al Azhar Printing Press, Dr. George Simonian, Dean of Applied Arts Faculty, Badr University in Cairo (BUC), and lecturer Dr. Ashraf Reda, Helwan University, as well as high-level executives of Egypt Post.
“The Egypt Post printing press is one of the most important and oldest printing presses in Egypt and the Middle East and is a fundamental pillar in developing the printing sector by relying on modern printing systems and using the latest digital printing machines,” says Elbaz. She pointed out that the new digital printing press is a strong addition to the working system of the Egypt Post printing press, enabling it to provide digital printing services, secure printing, card issuance, and postage stamp printing of high quality on par with international standards.
Elbaz further stated that both private and public sector companies and institutions such as ministries, agencies, banks, universities, etc. can make use of the services provided by the new press for all their printing needs. “Variable data printing, powerful security programmes, latest software for complete control of the printing press’s management, which includes security design, various stages of production, and colour quality will guarantee customer satisfaction.”
