The SC-S9100 is designed for sign-makers and print service providers (PSPs), creating colour-accurate prints for a variety of large-format print applications
Epson has announced its latest printer for the signage printing market, the SC-S9100.
The machine is designed for sign-makers and print service providers (PSPs), creating colour-accurate prints for a variety of large-format print applications.
The company has claimed an up to 9% increase in productivity compared with its previous model, the SC-S80600. The 64-inch eco-solvent printer is tailored for production houses engaged in general signage, wallpaper applications, and direct printing on substrates such as clear film, vinyl, canvas, and photographic paper.
The printer comes with 11 colours, including CMYK, red, orange, light black, light cyan, light magenta, green, and optional white. The inclusion of a new green ink expands the colour gamut, with the aim of delivering smoother gradations.
Other features include the new PrecisionCore Micro TFP user-replaceable printhead, as well as an additional drying system that ensures prints are cured before reaching the take-up reel.
Another key feature highlighted by Epson is the new flat-top design, which is designed to provide additional workspace for users to place a laptop connected to the printer. Additionally, the device has a transparent lid which enables easy monitoring of printing status and quality.
Phil McMullin, head of commercial and industrial sales at Epson UK, comments: “The SC-S9100 represents a significant leap forward in signage printing technology. With enhanced productivity, user-replaceable printheads, wide ink gamut and exceptional colour accuracy, users can improve their service offerings while minimising downtime.”
