FESPA’s Printing SA has partnered with the Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities to support women in the print industry. Their collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, underscores their shared commitment to gender equality.
This partnership will be highlighted at the “Printspired” Women Changing the Future of Print events happening in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban this August.
The South African printing industry, which contributes R60 billion annually to the economy, is thriving with innovations like 3D printing and sustainable practices. Despite myths of its decline, the sector is growing and evolving, with Printing SA playing a key role in representing and advancing the industry’s interests.
Jermaine Naicker, Managing Director of Printing SA, notes that the industry is not just surviving but flourishing. The partnership with the Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities aims to highlight and support the significant contributions of women in the print sector.
The “Printspired” events will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and workshops, offering attendees insights into the latest advancements in print technology and opportunities for networking and skill development. These events are designed to inspire and equip women with the tools to succeed in the evolving industry.
Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga emphasized the importance of empowering women in traditionally male-dominated fields like print. This partnership aligns with the mission to support and inspire women, youth, and persons with disabilities, highlighting the role of inclusivity in driving economic progress.
